Contemporary dance merges Classical Ballet technique with Modern Dance techniques and ideals. The use of breathe, body weight, suspension and elevation combined with both floor work and travelling exercises, creates a strong expressive dancer who can jump, turn and twist with ease and dynamics.
Graham focuses on strengthening the centre. Cunningham the precision and use of the torso and legs while moving. Release technique develops the use of breathe and body weight to create a soft, fluid sense of movement.
These classes are non - syllabus and are for students aged 12 - 18yrs.
